This position reports to the manager of measurement services.  The position is responsible for data entry, reviewing, checking for complete status of data that is automatically loading into the measurement system, and analyzing volumetric data using the available tools within FlowCal, and AutoSol.  

SALARY RANGE:   (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

  • Level I:  $48,800 - $73,200 
  • Senior Level: $58,900 - $$88,400

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Manager of Measurement Services

LOCATION: This position can be located in Council Bluffs, Iowa or Frederick, Colorado

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Perform daily operational duties to ensure continuous efficient and effective accumulation, analysis and reporting of gas measurement.  
  • Ensure gas consumption information is clearly and accurately accumulated in a timely manner from all systems (internal & external) capturing gas measurement.  
  • Ensure gas measurement exceptions are addressed and resolved daily and reports are created and distributed on a timely basis.
  • Reviewing all data for anomalies, taking the steps to resolve issues.
  • Setting up validation limits within the measurement application.
  • Estimating data as necessary.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide accurate and timely gas measurement data.
  • Daily validation of measurement data to satisfy verification of data and system integrity through detailed policies and procedures and verification of system and process controls.
  • Setting up ACM polling as necessary.
  • Running unaccounted-for balance reports.
  • Reviewing meter tests.
  • Closing assigned meters for billing purposes.
  • Assigning and reviewing gas quality assignments.
  • Setting up new meters/pins.
  • Train new coworkers as needed in measurement and meter testing software.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Level I

  • No experience required. Training provided. 
  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Senior Level

  • Minimum of (5) five years of utility experience in gas measurement, gas supply transportation services, billing and/or accounting required. 
  • Associate Degree in business, accounting or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Experience working with utility customer information or distribution operations systems (CIS, SCADA, FlowCal) is helpful. 
  • Understanding of natural gas, LDC, FlowCal, or similar measurement platforms.
  • Knowledge of TESTit or similar meter testing software.
  • Proficiency in computer applications: Word, EXCEL, Power Point.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Work independently with minimal direction.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Creative in seeking alternate solutions.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if moving about is only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Willing to travel occasionally (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities.
