Facilitate the accomplishment of business objectives through data analysis, metrics development and report creation.  Identify opportunities and recommend solutions that guide operations leaders in data driven performance optimization.

SALARY RANGE:   Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.

  • Operations Analyst:  $64,100 - $96,100
  • Senior Operations Analyst:  $76,300 - $114,450

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:   Manager, Utility Analytics

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Utilize statistics to proactively explore data looking for deficiencies, failures and inefficiencies.  
  • Visualize, model or otherwise analyze each problem and support management to implement solutions.
  • Develop key performance indicators and analyze results.
  • Create, document, and maintain reports and dashboards for a large group of stakeholders.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements to develop analytics solutions.
  • Support project leaders and measure project implementation efforts through project KPIs, recommending adjustments as needed.
  • Promote a culture of knowledge sharing and data-driven decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in analytics, engineering, mathematics, statistics, or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Operations Analyst:  A minimum of three (3) years of experience in analytics, developing reports and KPIs is required.
  • Senior Operations Analyst:  A minimum of five (5) years of experience in analytics, developing reports and KPIs is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Statistics, descriptive, and quantitative analysis.
  • Expert in the use of Excel formulas to manipulate spreadsheet data.
  • Proficient in data visualization and developing KPIs.
  • Experience creating reports in an analytics tool (Business Objects, Power BI, Tableau, etc).
  • Present complex analytics topic in a simple and straightforward manner.
  • Basic understand of database relationships preferred.
  • Basic understanding of SQL preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee continuously accesses, inputs, and retrieves electronic information and communicates regarding the information.  Employee frequently moves about the office space. Employee must be able to operate routine office equipment including computers and similar equipment. Must be able to routinely perform this work for an average of 6-8 hours per day and occasional extended hours as necessary. Must be capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Light work. The employee is continuously moving about the job site or office space. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of reaching and moving controls exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Willing to travel up to 25% (e.g. 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job, and the employee must have proper licensing to operate a motor vehicle.
