As the Risk Management Analyst, you will prepare, implement, and provide detailed administration of all types of agreements and contracts for the Natural Gas businesses, including pipeline service agreements, gas sales and purchase agreements (NAESB’s), and financial (derivative) purchase agreements (ISDA’s).  This position will help provide support to the Risk Management areas by collaborating with staff to understand trading strategies and to provide risk and compliance guidance.

SALARY GRADE: $67,650 - $101,450 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Senior Manager, Commodity Risk Management

LOCATION: Rapid City, SD

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide detailed administration of NAESB/ISDA and pipeline service agreements through to execution, term management and renewal initiation.
  • Participate in capacity release support by the monitoring and entry of contract entitlement.
  • Coordinate with Natural Gas Trading (regulated and non-regulated) management teams to ensure timely and accurate entry of negotiated or discounted rates based on industry requirements. 
  • Coordinate with Gas Supply and Transportation Services team and FERC regulatory manager to ensure timely and accurate pipeline rate entry into Endur gas management system for numerous rate/fuel schedules on each of the pipelines Company contracts for services.
  • Track terms and provisions of contracts to ensure full compliance, including coordinating with the management team to meet all target dates associated with contract renewals and renegotiations.
  • Identify and track contract obligations; initiate appropriate and timely action to ensure continuity of services, especially in relation to pipeline services agreements.
  • Maintain trading platform (Endur) and FileNet with contract and counterparty information.
  • Prepare and submit regulatory compliance data requests as required.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Ensure the accuracy of physical and financial transaction details through comparison of counterparty and internal transaction confirmations
  • Provide monthly invoice reconciliation assistance for pipeline and transportation contract settlements for the Endur natural gas trading lifecycle software solution.
  • Serve as back-up to other Risk Management personnel on electric and natural gas systems 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Minimum of (3) three years of experience in the natural gas industry and/or experience in one or more functions relevant to this position, contracts/transportation contracts, commercial development, tariffs and regulations, or risk management required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field of work such as Business, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics or any other field of study or equivalent combination of education and experience required. 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES: 

  • Ability to analyze complex contracts 
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle assignments from multiple sources
  • Ability to work with a team, in both an open office environment and potentially remotely using technology
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Identify audit issues for internal contract audits.
  • Participates in special projects and completes ad-hoc reporting as directed.
  • Partners effectively with various departments, and performs other projects as needed.
