We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Business Architect to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and implementing the enterprise architecture strategy, with a specific focus on enterprise capability management and governance. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of success in designing and implementing business architectures and governance frameworks, as well as experience in defining and communicating the value proposition of enterprise architecture to stakeholders.

SALARY RANGE: $90,250 - $148,750 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:   Manager, Applications

LOCATION: This position may be located in Fayetteville, Arkansas; Denver, Colorado; or our corporate headquarters in Rapid City, South Dakota.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and maintain the enterprise architecture framework, ensuring alignment with the company's strategy and goals.
  • Lead the definition and implementation of enterprise capability management, including the identification, assessment, and development of capabilities required to support the company's strategic goals.
  • Develop and implement governance processes to ensure compliance with the enterprise architecture framework, including risk management, decision-making, and communication processes.
  • Act as a liaison between the business and technology teams, ensuring that the enterprise architecture is aligned with technology solutions.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define and prioritize initiatives that support the company's strategic goals and provide guidance and support to project teams to ensure alignment with the enterprise architecture.
  • Stay current with industry trends and developments and recommend changes to the enterprise architecture framework as needed to ensure continued alignment with the company's goals.
  • Ensure technology roadmaps items are aligned and evaluated for impact against established enterprise capabilities.
  • Closely collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to ensure and influence cohesive/efficient solutions meet enterprise direction.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with leaders in the organization to review and update enterprise capability model to ensure it continues to represent what BHE does as an organization.
  • Build and maintain a repository of Enterprise Architecture artifacts to be used by the organization to help inform decision making.
  • Other duties as assigned. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of (5) five years in business or technology architecture, business or technology strategy, solution planning/delivery or technology consulting is required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology or related specialty, or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment and to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
  • Understanding of enterprise architecture methodologies and frameworks, such as TOGAF, Zachman, and FEAF.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups and establish ongoing relationships.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (written & verbal presentation). 
  • Ability to think strategically and apply an enterprise perspective when making decisions. 
  • Capable of defining and communicating the value proposition of strategic align to stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
