Responsible for maintaining SCADA software, hardware, network and field communications for storage, transmission and distribution gas systems Ensures that reliable, accurate, and timely data is available for the safe operation of pipeline systems. Supports NGU field operations with projects, issue resolution, and provides 24/7 support for the gas control centers in Council Bluffs, IA and Fayetteville, AR.  

SALARY RANGE:  (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the candidate)

  • Level I: $62,150 - $93,300
  • Level II: $73,700 - $110,600 
  • Senior: $86,550 - $129,900

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:   Sr. Manager SCADA/Operational Technology

LOCATION:   Council Bluffs, Iowa

  • Relocation financial assistance is available amount may vary based on individual circumstances.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  • Maintain application performance monitoring and overall integrity of SCADA software, computer hardware, network, and field communications
  • User access management and administration functions
  • Assure coordination and communication with change requests, upgrades, patches and maintenance tasks
  • Provide technical support for field personnel on installation, configuration, commissioning and troubleshooting of field components and communication devices
  • Develops and maintains procedures and documentation for operating a safe and reliable SCADA system.
  • Builds and maintains real-time management tools and reports to meet internal customer business needs
  • Designs and updates HMI screens and displays
  • Participates in the development and implementation of new SCADA technologies
  • Provides planned on-call assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to ensure SCADA availability

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Identify and participate in the development, implementation, and refreshment of departmental practices, procedures, and SCADA control room management needs
  • Participate in the department's technology recovery and emergency management plans
  • Performs other tasks and assignments as required

QUALIFICATIONS: 

Level I:

  • Minimum (2) two years of IT experience, including systems development in the design and development of department/enterprise applications required.
  • Associate’s degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Level II:

  • Minimum (3) three years of IT experience, including systems development in the design and development of department/enterprise applications required.
  • Associate’s degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Senior:

  • Minimum (4) four years of IT experience, including systems development in the design and development of department/enterprise applications required.
  • Associate’s degree or certification in a technology-related field or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to quickly learn new concepts and skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office software applications
  • Ability to maintain proficiency with new systems and software as technology evolves 
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills involving tact and diplomacy
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting skills and a sense of urgency
  • SCADA software systems, protocols, virtual and cloud hosted technologies
  • Technical skills and experience working with various programming languages (VBA, C, C++, C#, .NET, SQL) and relational databases 
  • Understanding and configuration of networks (routers, switches, end-devices)
  • Data transport technologies such as HTTP and FTP

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if moving about is only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level.
