Job Specifications

Support the operation, administration, and maintenance of the Transmission Integrity Management Program (TIMP) and the Distribution Integrity Management Program (DIMP) of the respective region.  The job position includes Pipeline Integrity field support, ongoing data integration, and other duties as assigned.

SALARY RANGE: $65,700 - $98,500 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)


LOCATION: This position may be located in Frederick or Denver, Colorado.

  • Support the TIMP and DIMP Pipeline Integrity Programs at the respective state level. Use various Integrity platforms such as Asset Suite, GIS, and New Century Software to track, integrate and record integrity activities.
  • Support and review processes related but not limited to: HCA identification, house counts surveys, GPS data collection, inline inspection, pressure testing, direct assessment, and ongoing asset data management.
  • Support data analysis to determine required remediation of integrity assessment technique(s) as required.  Support identification of solutions towards threat mitigation as well as communication and documentation of required actions.
  • Participate in PHMSA and state commission audits.  Provide support and general correspondence as applicable.
  • Participate as a member of the company’s Emergency Response (ERL) system and crisis response on-call program.
  • Support liaison communication and training for the Pipeline Integrity Department through various interactions with field personnel and outside stakeholders.


  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record that is satisfactory to the company and its insurers.
  • Maintain professional relationships with vendors and contractors.
  • Maintain supportive and respectful working relationships with operations, IT support team and other business & system owners.


  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of (3) three years of pipeline integrity and/or natural gas utility industry work experience required. 


  • Have a working knowledge of PHMSA regulations, accepted industry practices and methods by attending pipeline and various industry group meetings such as (NACE, PHMSA/DOT, AGA, ASME, MEA, SGA, PRCI and GTI), continued education seminars, conferences and classes.
  • Knowledge of company-specific policies and practices, regulatory and tariff requirements.
  • Work experience or basic knowledge in the following: Cathodic Protection, GIS, inline inspection, pressure testing, and direct assessment.
  • Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues/problems.
  • Ability to organize, schedule and prioritize departmental and individual work tasks to meet various schedules, objectives and deadlines.
  • Ability to work within a team, to assist with special projects; and, to focus attention on details and completing projects.
  • Ability to analyze business reporting information and recommend improvements.  Sensible business systems knowledge.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: Light work. The employee is continuously moving about the job site or office space. Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of reaching and moving controls exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level and occasionally outdoors in sometimes inclement weather. Worker may be subject to hazards including a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working in places of height or close quarters. Willing to travel up to 25% (e.g., 1 week or 5 days/month) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Travel will be necessary to conduct the duties of this job and the employee must have proper licensing to operate a motor vehicle.
