Execute the five-year financial systems roadmap by implementing and maintaining system solutions, optimally supporting the finance organization and overall company goals. Serve as a subject matter expert for providing recommendations to streamline business processes through systems solutions. Develop a partnership with the IT and business organizations to analyze business requirements and assist with providing system solutions.  Support a high performance and continuous improvement culture that values learning and a commitment to quality, delivering value to customers and shareholders.

SALARY RANGE:  Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.

  • Senior Level:  $78,200 - $117,300 
  • Principal Level:  $87,600 - $144,400 

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:   Manager, Financial Systems 

LOCATION:  Our corporate headquarters in Rapid City, South Dakota.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain financial systems in support of the five-year roadmap including day-to-day support; patch/bundle updates; and software implementation. 
  • Understand financial systems providers’ new functionality, enhancements, and solutions that support the company’s finance/accounting, reporting, financial planning, and regulatory life cycle processes and provide recommendations for improvements. 
  • Assist the organization in improving business process by providing optimized, standardized and improved system solutions and procedures.
  • Support the Financial Systems Manager as a business partner and liaison between the Financial Systems and business operations teams, mainly Supply Chain.  
  • Implement system projects using a structured SDLC methodology, including defining requirements by facilitating fit gap analysis / system design sessions; translating business requirements to technical specifications; and configuring the system. 
  • Provide effective testing plans and training programs; comprehensive documentation; and required reporting for financial systems projects. 
  • Coordinate system and business process improvement projects through effective project management techniques, providing metrices to maintain accountability and achieve success.   
  • Develop and maintain reporting requirements to support organization in completing insightful and efficient operational and financial analysis, as well as support effective internal controls.  
  • Partner with collaborators to build and maintain appropriate system related internal controls, security, and segregation of duties ensuring SOX control compliance in all respects.     

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Obtain an advanced understanding of assigned financial systems and functional modules, potentially including, but not limited to, PeopleSoft Financials, PowerPlan, Hyperion, Utilities International, RPA, Business Objects and related interfaces.
  • Coach and mentor financial systems analysts.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Senior Level:  Minimum of (5) five years of experience in supply chain, management information systems, or business analytics experience required.
  • Principal Level: Minimum of (7) seven years of experience in supply chain, management information systems, or business analytics experience required.

  • Demonstrates concise and clear written and verbal communication skills with the ability to actively listen to other points of view, adapt messaging based on audience, influence and effectively articulates thoughts to internal and external partners.
  • Understands data, data mining tools (ie: Excel, Essbase, etc.) and system interfaces and applies technology solutions to job responsibilities. Leverages data mining tools and techniques to effectively organize information and explain performance.
  • Seeks to understand, anticipate, and address needs through responsive and quality interactions while balancing the needs with the broader organizational goals. Establishes and maintains effective trusting and respectful relationships.
  • Understands how operational and financial decisions impact the financial documents and internal controls. Recognize risk factors and mitigation of risk.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or continuously to lift, carry, push, pull or sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if moving about is only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.

Work environment: Routinely perform work indoors in climate-controlled shared work area with moderate noise level. Willing to travel occasionally (less than 10 days per year) by automobile (as driver and passenger), commercial airlines, rental vehicles and public transportation and be able to lodge in public facilities. Must have proper licensing to operate a motor vehicle.
